Ilidža

Ilidža is where Sarajevo goes to breathe. The Velika Aleja promenade leads through plane trees to Vrelo Bosne, the clear springs at the source of the Bosna river, and the area's thermal sulphur spas have drawn visitors since Austro-Hungarian times. It is greener, flatter and more spacious than the central districts, and home to the international airport. For buyers it is the city's prime family suburb, with houses, gardens and good schools. Investors find steady suburban rental demand, but should weigh the longer commute to the center and localized airport noise in some pockets, both of which can limit the resale audience versus central stock.
