About Confluence (2e)

Confluence occupies the southern tip of the 2e where the Saône meets the Rhône, a former zone of factories, a port and a prison transformed into one of Europe's largest urban-regeneration projects. The Musée des Confluences anchors the point, while La Sucrière (a converted sugar warehouse) and the 'Orange Cube' give the district its bold modern identity, alongside Christian de Portzamparc's regional government headquarters. For residents it offers contemporary, energy-efficient apartments, a 75-shop leisure-and-cinema centre, a marina and riverside parks, all linked to Part-Dieu by tram T1 with Perrache station on its northern edge. Older flats here are cheaper than the historic 2e, while premium new-build commands a clear price step-up.
